About

Zimbabwe's fuel prices. Tracked.

What is Zimbabwe Fuel Watch?

Zimbabwe Fuel Watch monitors fuel prices set by ZERA — the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority — and presents them clearly for traders, transporters, fleet managers, and businesses.

Every time ZERA announces new maximum retail prices, we update this site and send alerts to subscribers. No ads buried in the data. No guesswork. Just the numbers.

Where does the data come from?

Primary source: ZERA

All prices on this site come directly from the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) — the statutory body mandated to regulate energy in Zimbabwe.

ZERA publishes the maximum legal retail price for petrol, diesel, LPG, and electricity. These are the ceiling prices retailers cannot exceed. Actual pump prices at your nearest station may be at or below the ZERA maximum.

We scrape ZERA's homepage daily and record changes to our price history.

How often do prices change?

ZERA reviews and adjusts fuel prices roughly monthly, though the timing varies. Changes reflect international oil prices, the USD/ZWG exchange rate, and government policy. During periods of global oil price volatility, adjustments can come more frequently.

When prices change, ZERA announces the new figures on their website and through press releases. We detect the change within 24 hours and send alerts to email subscribers.

What currencies are shown?

ZERA publishes prices in both USD and ZWG (Zimbabwe Gold — the official local currency introduced in April 2024). Both are shown on this site. Most traders price fuel in USD; the ZWG price is derived from the official RBZ exchange rate at the time of the ZERA announcement.
