Feeding Programs Overview

Understanding the science behind our feeding recommendations

Broiler: 2-Phase vs 3-Phase Feeding

The 2-phase program uses Starter (day 1-14) and Grower/Finisher (day 15 to market), offering simplicity and lower costs for smaller batches.

The 3-phase program adds a dedicated Grower phase between Starter and Finisher, allowing more precise nutrition at each growth stage. This typically delivers better feed conversion ratios and is recommended for batches of 500+ birds.

Pig: Lifecycle Feeding

Capital Foods provides a complete lifecycle feeding program for pigs: Creep Feed (1-4 weeks), Weaner (4-8 weeks), Grower (8-16 weeks), and Finisher (16 weeks to market). Specialised Sow & Boar rations maintain breeding stock condition.

Each phase is formulated with the precise protein, energy, and mineral levels needed for that growth stage, ensuring efficient conversion and healthy animals.

Beef: Feedlot Program

The feedlot program starts with an adaptation period to transition cattle onto concentrate feeds safely, followed by growing and finishing phases designed to maximise average daily gain while maintaining rumen health.

Capital Foods Beef Feedlot Meal is formulated for optimal weight gain and feed conversion, helping you hit market weight targets profitably.

Layer: Production Feeding

Layers require carefully phased nutrition: Pullet Starter and Grower build a strong frame, while Layer Mash provides the calcium, protein, and energy needed for sustained egg production.

Proper nutrition during rearing directly impacts age at point of lay, peak production percentage, and laying persistency. Our feeds are formulated to hit all these targets.
